If you plan to take classes at Hunter this summer, you may be eligible to receive an Undergraduate Summer Scholarship. Upon registering in Hunter College’s Summer Session, the scholarship awards up to $500 to continuing undergraduate students for enrollment and successful completion of one (1) summer class that counts toward your degree.

In addition to the above requirements, the accumulation of earned credits will be considered in the award process. Courses taken on e-Permit do not qualify towards scholarship eligibility. W and WU grades will result in a disqualification of scholarship funds.

Summer Pell, known as the Year-Round Pell Grant provides up to 150 percent of your maximum Pell award for the academic year. If eligible, the additional Pell funds will enable you to enroll in Summer courses at reduced tuition or tuition-free so that you can earn your degree faster without accruing or increasing debt. Here’s a few benefits of the Year-Round Pell Grant:
Students may be eligible for a summer Pell grant if there is remaining Pell eligibility. Eligible students will automatically be considered for the Pell grant award which will be posted to the student’s CUNYfirst account in during the summer term.

You can also get started with a single three-credit course this Summer and still qualify for Year-Round Pell by enrolling at Hunter full-time in the Fall and Spring semesters. This can be a really great option for students looking to catch-up on their degree requirements and for those starting in the Fall who want to get a jump-start on their Hunter education.
Note: Students may only receive a maximum of 12 full-time semesters or 600%.
